yoga balls

Yoga Balls

Yoga balls are a great way to enhance one's yogic experience. Yoga balls are used to support the weight during certain poses in order to focus the effectiveness of that particular pose.

Yoga balls generally come in three different sizes:

  • 55 cm for people 5' - 5' 6'
  • 65 cm for people 5' 7' - 5' 11'
  • 75 cm for people over 6' tall (there is also a 45 cm ball which is good for hip extension poses).

These air-filled balls give support to yoga practitioners during such poses as backbends, hip openers and restorative poses.

Here are some of the benefits from using a yoga ball during your routine:

  • Improved cardiovascular fitness level - using the yoga ball increases the number of muscles used which develops muscle tone as well as good circulation.
  • Improved flexibility - yoga balls accentuate stretches such as with back stretches and abdominal stretches.
  • Improved balance - yoga balls help you develop balance while in motion.
  • Improved body core strength - above all yoga balls deepen the level of strength in the abdomen, lower back, and buttocks; the core of a fit body.

Yoga balls are made from durable vinyl and can support up to 600 pounds. The yoga balls come uninflated, and can be inflated with an included pump or a standard ball pump.
