Yoga Relaxation

How can stretching and sweating in a yoga class help me gain relaxation in my daily life? This is a great question and the answer is, relaxation only comes about when our minds and bodies have expended all of the day's headaches. Only when we allow our brains to be free from the shopping list, dinner preparations, work, and the kids can we even consider delving into the rejuvenating effects of relaxation induced by yoga practice.

In yoga, when we stimulate our bodies to stretch for long periods of time, our minds are forced to focus on the task at hand. In order focus, our minds must be clear and free from unwanted debris. This level of relaxation only occurs if we let go of our daily headaches and allow our minds and bodies to act as one.

The effect of relaxation is not limited to the 30-60 minutes put in during a yoga session. After only a few sessions, one can begin to feel the relaxing state that yoga induces in us. Our everyday tasks take on new meaning and can be dealt with in a clearer state of mind. Especially when yoga becomes an integral part of your life, you will feel more balanced, happy, free, and ultimately more relaxed.
